A Brief History:
Origination:  The strawberry parfait has its roots in France circa 1890 as a frozen custard treat consisting of eggs, sugar, cream, and syrup, with the term “parfait” translating to “perfect” in French. The initial recipe can be traced back to 1892. Parfaits are commonly presented in tall parfait glasses and are frequently assembled with multiple layers of various ingredients.

What a Parfait Is: The classic parfait consists of layers of ice cream or frozen custard, fruit, and whipped cream in a tall glass. A final touch of whipped cream is added on top. Nowadays, it is common to substitute the ice cream with yogurt or pudding, and include layers of granola. It truly makes for a delightful parfait if you inquire.
