The Rose of Sharon (Pink)

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2025 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the The Rose of Sharon (Pink).

The Rose of Sharon (Pink), or the Hibiscus Syriacus, while not really a rose, is a resilient deciduous shrub, commonly referred to as the Common Hibiscus or Shrub Althea. It features an upright, vase-like form and produces large trumpet-shaped flowers characterized by prominent yellow-tipped white stamens. While the flowers are predominantly pink, they can also exhibit shades of dark pink (nearly purple), light pink, or white. This robust shrub typically showcases striking, hollyhock-like blooms measuring 2 – 3 inches in diameter, with a distinct central column of stamens. The flowering period extends from early summer to autumn, with blossoms available in various colors such as white, pink, red, and purple…
