The Trumpet Vine

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let 2025 shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the The Trumpet Vine.

The Trumpet Vine, or the Campsis Radicans, commonly referred to as the Trumpet Creeper, is a flowering plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. This species is indigenous to eastern North America and has become naturalized in various regions. It can grow really long in length and is characterized by its robust, deciduous woody structure and striking trumpet-shaped blossoms. The leaves can reach lengths of up to 7 inches and consist of 7 to 13 leaflets, each measuring approximately 3 inches in length and 1-1/2 inches in width. Initially, the leaflets exhibit an emerald green color, transitioning to a glossy dark green as they mature. They are shaped ovate to broadly lanceolate, with coarsely serrated edges. Typically found in woodlands and along riverbanks, it is also favored as an ornamental plant in gardens…
