God bless everyone who has either been a prisoner in wartime! Thank you for your time, bravery, and sacrifice for this country! Freedom does not die!!
A prayer and a moment of silence…

A prayer:
Dear God,
I express my gratitude for acknowledging the courage of those who are either held captive or unaccounted for in action. I seek Your protection and fortitude for both the captives and those in perilous positions. I pray for an end to the conflict and for enduring peace for the captives and the entire world. I am thankful for the liberties that these individuals have contributed to securing. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of former prisoners of war, wishing them strength and solace. In Jesus’ name.
Amen

National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day ! ! !
…A lot of times we lose our disposition in regular daily matters, but this country and the flag it stands behind, is still the most free land in the world. It is a nice day to celebrate the freedom we enjoy everyday with a tributary to that served. Where else in the world do we have that freedom to express our own opinions, and get away with having those thoughts, but in the U.S.A.–and that freedom is only possible through our Veterans, and anyone who has ever been a former prisoner of war. You are most honored!

A Brief History:
Thank You: A special day to honor the American soldiers, sailors, marines, or any other department who have been a former prisoner of war. The day serves as a reminder to reflect on the commitment and sacrifices made by military personnel who are captive or unaccounted for due to their service. It is customary for Americans to display flags as a gesture of remembrance and respect. Commitment includes advocating for the return of former prisoner of war, providing conclusive evidence when these outcomes are not attainable, as outlined in Resolution 22 from the 99th National Convention. I am absolutely flabbergasted to say “thank you”!

Origination: National Former Prisoner of War Recognition Day is observed annually on the third Friday of September. This day is dedicated to honoring the dedication and sacrifices of the nation’s prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action, along with their families. On this occasion, Americans are encouraged to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by military personnel who are either imprisoned or unaccounted for due to their service. It is also customary for individuals and businesses to display flags. The Legion is steadfast in its mission to ensure a complete accounting of all U.S. servicemembers from every conflict who are either held captive or classified as missing in action. In line with this mission, it advocates for the return of living Formers, the repatriation of the remains of fallen soldiers from overseas conflict zones, or the establishment of conclusive evidence indicating that neither outcome is feasible, as outlined in Resolution 22 from the 99th National Convention.
Traditions: Taking a hat off for the many Americans who over the years have served our Armed Forces, especially a former prisoner of war.
