A Brief History:
Origination: Persons involved in social work put dedication in their entire careers in order to helping others with major effort and oftentimes working long, hard hours. The normal social worker’s day sees the persons serving in many roles in their communities in assessing their client’s challenges and needs. The social worker responds to crisis situations and speak up for their clients through advocacy, by getting them access to the resources needed in order to improve their lives. This fine day honors and recognizes all that effort and significant achievements. Social work involves being in balance for the clinical needs and patient care, and by helping patients meet their vast array of healthcare goals in a complex and challenging time.

Social Work: The social worker work in many settings and places, in order to finding positions in medical facilities, in child welfare and for human service agencies, and schools. They also work in education, by teaching newer social workers. World Social Work Day celebrates the achievements of social work globally, nationally and locally. It also recognizes the efforts of individuals who’ve chosen social work as a profession.

Celebrated: Since 1983, World Social Work Day is celebrated on third Tuesday every year in March, and that was Tuesday, March 19^th. The day is celebrated in order to recognize the dedication and hard work of social workers worldwide, to stand together for social justice, human rights, and social development for all persons.
