My prayers go out to all areas involved in the weekend’s massive tornadoes outbreak and severe storms plus wildfire events.
At least 43 confirmed deaths across eight states since Friday. Missouri reports the highest fatalities (12); Kansas reports eight from a dust storm. More than 90 tornadoes reported in 13 states, including two EF-4 tornadoes in Arkansas. A tornado overturned a school bus in Alabama, and damage assessments are ongoing. Thirteen individuals were rescued from a Burger King restroom during a tornado in Missouri. Recovery efforts are underway as teams assess damage caused by tornadoes and winds across multiple states following the recent severe weather outbreak.

Some Details of the 03/14/25 to 03/16/25 Outbreak:

Missouri, Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and North Carolina have reported deaths due to tornadoes and severe storms, with over 90 confirmed tornadoes, including nine EF-3 and three EF-4. Dust storms in Texas and Kansas have also caused fatalities, while wildfires in Oklahoma are linked to more deaths. Since the disaster began on Friday, at least 43 people have died across eight states, from Texas to North Carolina. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center has recorded over 1,000 storm-related reports.

Ongoing damage assessments and recovery efforts follow a major storm system that resulted in severe weather, dust storms, and wildfires. Missouri has the highest death toll at 12, while Kansas reported eight deaths from a dust storm that caused a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 70. Oklahoma has seen fatalities due to strong winds and wildfires.

More than 90 tornadoes have been reported across 13 states. An EF-2 tornado in Winterboro, Alabama, overturned a school bus onto a gym. There have been at least 92 tornadoes confirmed, including two EF-4 tornadoes in Arkansas. EF-4 tornado damage was also found in Tylertown, Mississippi, with winds of 170 mph. There are also at least nine EF-3 tornadoes impacting Arkansas, Missouri, and Alabama. The count of tornadoes may change as assessments continue, with some reports being combined.

Thirteen people were rescued after being trapped in a Burger King restroom during a Missouri tornado. Communities in Alabama are starting recovery efforts after tornadoes hit the state. The National Weather Service teams are investigating damage paths in Alabama to determine if they were caused by tornadoes or straight-line winds.

Preliminary Reports:

  • At least 43 confirmed deaths
  • More than 90 tornadoes reported in 13 states
  • Fatalities due to strong winds and wildfires
  • 1,000 storm-related reports
