Origination: Fruitcake, it has such a repriore that we actually have a reserved day to have a toss competition.

Why Toss the Fruitcake? Numerous individuals are presented with fruitcakes as gifts at various points throughout the holiday season. While some choose to consume this festive bread, others may opt to pass it along to someone else. Additionally, there are those who discreetly dispose of them, as well as individuals who do so more overtly.

The Last Few Centuries: The original Great Fruitcake Toss took place in Manitou Springs, Colorado, on January 3, 1996. Annually, participants engage in a competition to determine who can throw or propel their fruitcakes the greatest distance.=

Celebrated: Enthusiasts of fruitcake tossing, regardless of age, celebrate National Fruitcake Toss Day annually on the first Saturday in January, which is today, January 4^th!
