On Video & .GIPHY: Pacific Hurricane Hone: August 17th to September 1st, 2024:
Because of the beauty from the eye in the sky. . .I am featuring a .GIF of the whole loop of Pacific Hurricane Hone, starting out in the eastern Pacific 40° south of the British Columbia coastline at 13°N & 126°W, affecting Hawaii only with mild conditions and rainfall. Hone meandered west to only very slightly northwest for the duration staying far enough south of Hawaii to spare the state any harm in means of damage, injuries or fatalities, before dissipating at 26°N & 179°W, all on one loop on .GIPHY.

Official damage report: No damage, No deaths.

The third inconsistency is a satellite failure, in the terms of 10 days of outage. See what the outage looked like:

A THIRD CENTRAL PACIFIC NWS/NOAA  ERROR:

This is the third serious issue with NWS/NOAA’s Central Pacific division. This issue has to do with inferiority, and/or making adjustments, repairs to satellite equipment during the hurricane season. These types of repairs should be done in an off season.

This is the third discrepancy in the 2024 with this exact department of government (first was Tropical Storm Aletta, second was Hurricane Hone). People tell me to complain. It is not my job to complain, the department needs to act accordingly and admit fault, not the other way around. Weather needs proper warnings issued, and proper equipment to be operational, at all times and without discrepancies. People’s lives are dependent on this fact. Weather technology and forecasting has had improvement every year since its inception, except the past 3 years. Every year, the situation continues to show signs of regression instead of progression. I care about the people of Hawaii as if they are my family.

I am from Illinois and we had a derecho event move in on July 15th between 9:30 and 11:00 pm. The warnings for the event were not activated on time and were tardy for the event. The derecho blew clear through and sirens finally went off 30 seconds after the brunt of the storm went through. This type of inaccuracy is not only uncalled for, it is dangerous. I am not going to complain about such an inconsistency. The department must know that an error happened despite the reasoning. I have the screenshot of this storm and I could see the dangerous situation before it was here, but was very busy, and have grown dependent on being notified properly but in this case it didn’t happen either. I thought maybe the situation lessened, but it did not. I am praying for a miracle that the problems can be uplifted, before lives are at stake again.
