08/20/24 Porsche (infotainment malfunction) Porsche (infotainment malfunction) Philips Respironics has agreed to pay $494 million to resolve claims that users and buyers/renters/lessees of its CPAPs, Bi-PAPs and ventilators were harmed when the company recalled the devices due to health concerns. If you have (or had) one of the devices, which were sold in the U.S. between 2008 and 2021 and recalled beginning in June 2021, you may be eligible for payment.
08/23/24 Bleacher Report (VPPA violations) Bleacher Report Sports website The Bleacher Report agreed to pay $4.8 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the company violated the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) by disclosing the personally identifiable informationof account holders to Facebook via the Meta Pixel without consent. Consumers who had a Bleacher Report account between Jan. 25, 2021, and May 21, 2024, may be eligible for payment.
09/03/24 BSH Home Appliances Corp. (defective Bosch microwave ovens) BSH Home Appliances Corp. (Bosch) The maker of Bosch appliances agreed to pay $2 million to settle allegations that certain microwave/oven combination appliances were equipped with defective components that caused the control panel to fade, dim, become unreadable, and/or fail altogether. If you own(ed) a qualifying Bosch microwave/oven combo appliance (model numbers HBL5751UC, HBL8751UC, HBLP751UC, HMC80151UC, HMC80251UC, and HMC87151UC), you may be eligible for payment and/or an extended service plan of three years.
09/11/24 TaxAct (privacy violations) TaxAct TaxAct, provider of DIY online tax preparation software, agreed to a $14.95 million settlement in a class action alleging that the company shared certain of its users’ personal and financial information with third parties, including Facebook/Meta, without permission. If you or your spouse used TaxAct to complete a Form 1040 and file your return between Jan. 1, 2018, and Dec. 31, 2022, you may be eligible for a payment and the free use of TaxAct Xpert Assist for your tax year 2024 return.
09/12/24 Direct Express (EFTA violations) Direct Express The Direct Express Debit Mastercard, provided by Conduent and issued by Comerica, is a way for recipients to get their federal benefits, even if they don’t have a bank account. Conduent agreed to a $1.2 million settlement in a case alleging that it and Comerica mishandled fraud claims made by Direct Express cardholders, in violation of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA) and Regulation E. If you submitted one or more fraudulent transaction or error claims between Feb. 12, 2018, and Sept. 28, 2022, and Conduent and/or Comerica denied your claim(s), you may be eligible for payment.
09/23/24 Nationwide Optometry/Nationwide Vision Center/Sightcare (data breach) Nationwide Optometry/Nationwide Vision Center/Sightcare Nationwide/Sightcare agreed to pay $3.45 million to settle allegations that the company failed to protect patient and employee information from a data breach that occurred in April/May of 2021. If you are a current or former patient, customer, employee, member, or covered dependent of Nationwide Optometry, P.C., Nationwide Vision Center, LLC, or Sightcare, Inc. and your personal information was accessed, stolen or compromised as a result of the data breach, you may be eligible for a payment and free credit monitoring services.
09/29/24 Ocwen (unfair fees) Ocwen (unfair fees) Ocwen Loan Servicing, which does business under brand names PHH Mortgage and Liberty Reverse Mortgage, has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging that the company overcharged borrowers for certain property valuation expenses, including Broker Price Opinions (BPOs) and Hybrid Valuations (Hybrids). If you have or had a loan serviced by Ocwen and you paid for one or more BPOs or Hybrids charged by Ocwen through Altisource between Nov. 5, 2010, and Sept. 29, 2017, you may be entitled to a $60 reimbursement for each BPO fee you paid and $70 for each Hybrid fee you paid. California class members can receive reversals or credits in these amounts for any fees that were assessed but not paid.
10/15/24 U-Haul (data breach) U-Haul U-Haul, a national moving and storage company, agreed to a $5.085 million settlement in a class action case alleging that the company failed to protect customer data from two data breaches, the first in September 2022 and the second in December 2023. If you are a California resident whose personal information was, or may have been, compromised in one or both of these breaches, and you received a Notice of Recent Security Incident, you may be eligible for payment.
11/18/24 Block and Cash App (data breach) Block and Cash App (data breach) Cash App, a mobile payment service, and its owner, Block, agreed to pay $15 million to settle a case alleging that the companies failed to protect customer information. If you are a current or former Cash App user whose information was accessed without consent or who experienced fraudulent account withdrawals or transfers between Aug. 23, 2018, and Aug. 20, 2024, you may be eligible for reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses, lost time, and/or transaction losses related to the breaches. 
11/19/24 IGK Dry Shampoo (benzene) Luxury Brand Partners Luxury Brand Partners, the company that markets IGK Dry Shampoo products, agreed to pay $850,000 to settle a case alleging that the products contained benzene, a known carcinogen. If you purchased one or more IGK First Class, IGK Direct Flight or IGK Jet Lag spray shampoo products prior to April 23, 2024, you may be eligible for payment.
11/30/24 Acella (NP Thyroid false advertising) Acella Pharmaceutical maker Acella agreed to pay $41.4 million to settle allegations of false advertising related to the company’s NP Thyroid product. The lawsuit alleged that Acella falsely claimed that the thyroid drug contained a specific amount of the active ingredient; some batches of the medication allegedly contained more and others contained less. If you filled a prescription for NP Thyroid between May 12, 2018, and April 30, 2021, you may be eligible for a payment.
12/01/24 Toyota RAV4 (defective batteries) Toyota Toyota agreed to settle allegations that it equipped certain of its RAV4 SUVs with a defective battery terminal that could result in a loss of power, stalling, and potentially a fire. If you are a current or former owner or lessee of a 2013-2018 RAV4 vehicle that was part of Recall 23V-734, conducted on or about Nov. 1, 2023, you may be eligible for a free battery inspection and/or reimbursement of battery replacement costs and out-of-pocket related repairs. (Use the WEBSITE: “CheckVIN” to determine if you qualify.) The claim deadline for unreimbursed out-of-pocket repairs is Dec. 1, 2024.The deadline to claim a battery replacement reimbursement is June 25, 2025. The claim deadline for out-of-pocket unique thermal events reimbursement is July 1, 2025.
12/09/24 Earth Rated (compostable poop bags) Earth Rated Earth Rated agreed to pay $825,000 to settle allegations that consumers were misled into believing that Earth Rated Certified Compostable Poop Bags (the “Certified Compostable Poop Bags”) were “compostable.” Consumers who purchased the bags but do not have proof of purchase can receive a $2 payment for each unit purchased, up to $6; with proof of purchase, there is no cap on the number of units.
01/11/25 Hyundai (vehicle defect) Hyundai The maker of Hyundai automobiles will pay $145 million to settle allegations that it manufactured certain of its vehicles between 2011 and 2022 without equipping them with an engine immobilizer—a type of electronic security technology—thereby leaving them more vulnerable to theft. If you purchased or leased an eligible Hyundai (listed on the settlement website and searchable by VIN), you may be eligible for a payment and/or a vehicle software upgrade.
05/06/25 iFIT (NordicTrack, ProForm) (equipment defect) iFIT Exercise equipment manufacturer iFIT agreed to settle allegations that a variety of the company’s “smart” treadmills and other equipment fitted with touchscreen consoles contained a defect that caused the units to fail following mandatory software updates. If you purchased a qualifying piece of exercise equipment on or before Jan. 23, 2023, you may be eligible for a free repair, a refund, or a credit toward the purchase of fitness equipment or service from NordicTrack, ProForm or Workout Warehouse.
05/09/25 Residential real estate brokers (antitrust) Residential real estate brokers Settlements totaling $730 million have been reached with a dozen real estate brokers and the National Association of Realtors in cases alleging that the companies and agents conspired to artificially increase commission fees, a violation of antitrust laws. If you sold a home listed on a multiple listing service (MLS) between October 31, 2017, and July 23, 2024, and you paid a real estate broker commission, you may be eligible for payment. Visit the settlement administrator’s website to select the settlement you may qualify for.

05/09/25 National Association of Realtors et al. (antitrust violations) National Association of Realtors et al. Anywhere, RE/MAX and Keller Williams will pay a total of $208,500,000 to settle allegations that the defendants created and implemented rules requiring home sellers to pay commissions to the broker or agent representing the home buyer, which caused home sellers to pay total commissions at inflated rates. Allegedly, the defendants enforced these rules through anticompetitive and unlawful practices. You may be eligible for payment if you sold a home during the eligible date ranges (varies by location; details here); listed the home that was sold on a multiple listing service anywhere in the U.S.; and paid a commission to a real estate brokerage in connection with the sale of the home.
