Trifle, which consisted of cream and biscuits, served as the foundation for this delightful creation. As time progressed into the Victorian era, trifles underwent a transformation, being molded into various shapes and lined with sponge biscuits to secure the ice cream within. These early ice cream cakes were relished by the aristocracy, who indulged in these extravagant delights even before the advent of modern refrigeration.
