A Brief History on Chocolate Ice Cream:
A Lot of Chocolate in Your Ice Cream: Chocolate ice cream is crafted using cocoa powder, cream, sugar, vanilla, and occasionally eggs, resulting in a decadent, chocolatey flavor and a distinctive brown hue. It ranks as the second most favored ice cream flavor, following closely behind vanilla. It’s a common misconception that vanilla is the original flavor because of its white color. But in reality, historical evidence shows that chocolate was actually the first flavor created!

Why: Chocolate, cold and sweet equals a very quenching and delicious combo on a hot day.

When: Chocolate ice cream has a rich history dating back to the late 19^th century. However, the earliest recorded recipe for this delectable treat can be traced all the way back to 1692 in Naples, Italy. Back then, it was inspired by a popular drinking chocolate that was often infused with delightful spices such as anise and cinnamon. Interestingly, in 1775, an Italian doctor named Filippo Baldini wrote a treatise called De sorbetti, where he recommended chocolate ice cream as a remedy for various medical conditions like gout and scurvy. However, there is still some debate among scholars as to whether Baldini was actually referring to chocolate sorbet instead. Regardless of the debate, one thing is for sure – chocolate ice cream has stood the test of time and continues to be a beloved treat enjoyed by people all over the world. Its creamy, chocolaty goodness is simply irresistible!
