The History:
Origination of Pizza: Pizza has a long history. The flatbreads with toppings were consumed by the ancient Egyptians, Romans and Greeks. The Italian version was served up with herbs and oil, similar to today’s Focaccia bread. But the modern birthplace of pizza is in the southwestern portion of Italy’s Campania region, now home to the city of Naples. Lagana is a Greek bread, and is very similar to Focaccia. There is even a Chinese version of pizza, The scallion oil pancake also known as a Chinese pizza, is a Chinese, a savory, unleavened flatbread folded with oil and minced green scallions. It is pan-fried which gives it crisp edges yet also a chewy texture. 

Origination of Parties: Parties go back to prehistoric mankind. Social gathering is as old as a get-together with Adam and Eve with the kids.

Bringing Together the Pizza & the Party of Pizza: Pizza and getting together with friends and/or family! How enticing, and a pizza party always hits the spot.

Celebrated: National Pizza Party Day is celebrated each year on the third Friday in May, which this year is today, May 17^th.
