A Beginning To The Western World:
The Beginning Years: History shows mentions of Oregon dating back to as early as the 16th century. During the 18th and 19th centuries, European powers, then later the United States did not exactly agree over possession of the region. In November, 1805, the Corps of Discovery Expedition followed along the Colombia River Gorge, reaching the Pacific Ocean, and were able to spend a winter at Fort Clatsop.
More History: In the year 1846, the United States and Great Britain compromised the division of Oregon, and became a state officially on February 14, 1859 After the inception of Oregon, pioneers followed in their footsteps and cut the terrestrial path that became the Oregon Trail.
The Haven of Oregon: Oregon is home to a very assorted home of different terrain. Oregon has volcanoes, lakes, streams, rivers, dense forests that include evergreens and semi-arid shrubland, as well as high deserts. The volcano Mount Hood stands at the state’s highest point of 11,249 feet. Crater Lake National Park is home to Crater Lake, which is the deepest lake in the United States. The Malheur National Forest is home of the single largest organism in the world, an Armillaria ostoyae, which is a fungus running beneath 2,200 acres of ground.
Climate of Oregon: Oregon is home to long, warm, and wet summers, and freezing, snowy, and windy winters, being basically partly cloudy year round. The temperature typically varies from between 13°F to 82°F year round, and is rarely ever below the bitter cold temperature of -7°F or above the hot temperature of 90°F.
The Great Location of Oregon: Oregon is located right between the northern state of California and the southern border of Washington. It is west of Idaho, north of California, south of Washington, and east of the Pacific Ocean.
