A Brief History on Cookies:
Founded By: The origin of cookies can be traced back to the 7th century in Persia, where the availability of sugar in the region led to their creation. Over time, the popularity of cookies grew and they became a beloved delicacy in Europe by the 14th century!

Later With the Name: The word cookie dates from at least 1701 in Scottish usage where the word meant “plain bun”, rather than thin baked good, and so it is not certain whether it is the same word. From 1808, the word “cookie” is comprised of “small, flat, sweet cake” in American English.
Chocolate Chip Cookies: Ruth Wakefield, the renowned owner of the Toll House restaurant in Whitman, Massachusetts, crafted the initial recipe during the late 1930s. This delectable combination of crunchy cookies and gooey chocolate chunks made its debut in her cookbook titled “Tried and True” in 1938, with the intention of being a delightful accompaniment to ice cream.

- The tallest tower of cookies was constructed by the Girl Scouts of Nassau County on January 9, 2010, at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York. It measured 1.83 meters tall (6 ft 1/8 inches) and required 22,800 cookies.
- Hassett’s Bakery in Cork, Ireland holds the world record for baking the most cookies in one hour, with a total of 4,695 cookies.
