🎖️ Vietnam Peace Day 🎖️
God bless everyone who has made the sacrifice for our country and the freedom that the flag represents! Thank you for your time, bravery, and sacrifice during wartime! We never forget!!
A prayer and a moment of silence…
A prayer:
Dear God,
Today, we pay tribute to our veterans, honorable individuals who dedicated themselves to serving and safeguarding our nation when duty called. We beseech You to bestow Your blessings upon them for their selfless commitment in the ongoing effort to uphold our liberties, ensure our security, and preserve the legacy of our country for all. We ask, O God, for eternal peace for all those whose names are etched on The Wall, as well as for those whom You have welcomed into Your embrace since the conclusion of the war. May we always remember those who did not return, and we hope for a comprehensive accounting of their fates in the near future. We also give great thanks, gratitude and praise, that peace in all war can only be granted through Your presence, and through Your countenance upon us to extend Your grace upon humanity.
Amen.

A Brief History:
Significance: The day signified a pivotal shift in the stance of the United States concerning its engagement in World War II. The assault by Japan inflicted significant damage on numerous battleships, leading to the total loss of both the USS Arizona and the USS Oklahoma. Additionally, several other vessels capsized, resulting in the loss of crew members. Among the affected ships was the USS Utah. In conjunction with the destruction of naval vessels, the attack also resulted in the loss of aircraft. Consequently, this assault compelled the United States to enter a conflict that had been ongoing for two years.

Traditions Organizations nationwide commemorate the memory of Vietnam through various tributes, where survivors recount their experiences and participate in reunions. It is customary for the Flag of the United States to be displayed at half-staff until sunset in remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation at Vietnam.
More Recently: Vietnam currently features numerous sites commemorating the individuals who served during the bombing. The Vietnam Memorial is dedicated to honoring the crews who perished on December 7, 1941. For many members of the USS Utah, USS Arizona, and USS Oklahoma, Vietnam serves as their final resting place. These memorials stand as a tribute to the service members who lost their lives during the attack and offer a poignant reminder of the profound losses inflicted by war.
Observed: The remembrance is observed every year on January 27th to signify the honor of those who served in Vietnam, remembering the day that peace was granted.
