A dentist is a skilled professional who provides oral care and treatment. They are responsible for diagnosing and addressing issues related to the gums, teeth, and mouth. Additionally, they play a crucial role in promoting good dental hygiene.
👩🏻⚕️ The Dentist Delivers:
The duties of a dentist encompass various tasks, such as identifying oral diseases, devising treatment plans, interpreting x-rays and diagnostic tests, ensuring the safe administration of anesthetics, monitoring the growth and development of teeth and jaws, conducting dental examinations, and utilizing modern technology and equipment like X-ray machines, lasers, drills, brushes, scalpels, and other medical tools.
⚕ Clean & Sterile:
To maintain a sterile environment, dentists also wear protective gear like gloves, masks, and safety glasses to prevent the transmission of germs or bacteria.

🦷 It’s About Your Teeth:
Here are some tips and pointers for keeping your teeth intact:
- Maintain good oral hygiene by using a soft-bristled brush and fluoride toothpaste to brush your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time. Remember to brush in small circles and short back-and-forth strokes, and be gentle along your gum line. It is also important to replace your toothbrush every 3 to 4 months.
- Ensure proper oral care by flossing daily, ideally after brushing. Carefully insert the floss between two teeth and bring it gently to the gumline without forcing it under the gums. Remember to rinse after flossing to remove any remaining debris.
- Prevent tooth decay and gum disease by removing plaque, a sticky combination of bacteria and food. If left untreated, plaque can harden into tartar, leading to gum irritation and inflammation. It is crucial to maintain good oral hygiene to avoid these issues.
- Prioritize your oral health by visiting the dentist for routine check-ups and professional cleanings at least once a year, regardless of whether you have natural teeth or dentures. Regular dental visits are essential for maintaining a healthy smile.
- Enhance your overall oral health by improving your diet. Avoid sugary and acidic foods that can erode your enamel, and instead, opt for healthy produce and fiber-rich foods. Additionally, refrain from smoking, limit alcohol consumption, and be cautious with hot and cold foods to protect your teeth and gums.
👨🏻⚕️ Different Dentist For Every Need:
Showing appreciation and also recognizing the employee’s dedication, hard work, inspiration and involvement lets the employee know how important what they do every day is in relation to the business or organization.
- Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) is a dentist in general practice and surgery. They perform the main function of all dentists, from performing fillings, root canals and other general dentistry.
- Orthodontics focuses on correcting your bite and aligning your teeth. Common orthodontic procedures include traditional braces, clear aligners, and removable retainers.
- Endodontics specializes in treating diseases affecting the inside of the tooth, such as the pulp chamber, pulp canal, and surrounding structures. Standard treatments provided by endodontists include root canal therapy and bleaching of nonvital teeth.
Example of implants. I had this surgical procedure from 2019-2022 to have titanium teeth as my choice.
🧑⚕️ Implants & More:
Sometimes, original, God-given teeth wear and tear beyond usability, and a major decision to either have teeth completely removed or the getting of plates and/or retainers becomes the decision -or- will it be implants? Implants are a great way to be able to have the best of both worlds, with the reality of the closest to God-given teeth that are possible.
- A prosthodontist is a dental professional who specializes in prosthodontics, encompassing dental implants, denture maintenance, and teeth bleaching.
- Cosmetic dentistry aims to enhance the aesthetics of your smile. Popular treatments in this field include teeth whitening, dental bonding, and veneers.
🥼 Can I Change My Mind on Having Implants Later?
You sometimes in life have to make a decision to either have implants or removal–and a change of mind later may not be an option. Chewing food is necessary in order to stimulate the gum bone areas. By having teeth removed and chewing without teeth stops nearly all gum bone stimulation. The body’s response to little or no stimulation over a period of time is bone loss. Too much bone loss results in the failure of implants. Implants absolutely need good bone structure to be able to have a good foundation for the implant’s success. Coming back years later may not be a good option. Always discuss the facts with your dentist and prosthodontist before having removals. There are often times a plan that can be worked out that can include some finance options.
🚩 Steer Clear of Dental Hoaxes and Scams!
You sometimes see ads: “Get implants over the phone! Dial 1-800-. . .”; or I can get you impacts in less than a month. I am not evaluating any dental procedure, but the implant process is definitely not even close to overnight. All the best things in life take time. So don’t get lured into any overnight fix that is expensive because it is just a scam. Always do research and consult with your general practitioner. Implants are not possible by phone or the internet!
🪥 Take Care of Your Teeth Early:
The key to success when it comes to your teeth is to keep great care of them before the need for replacement or removal becomes necessary. Also if a surgical procedure somewhere else in the body arises, having “bad” or infected teeth may require the necessity of having the teeth removed before a surgeon will proceed with a surgical procedure. Smile! Your teeth are worth it!
