A treat for persons from California and points out west and further are in for a photographic gem tonight: A Super Blood Moon and Lunar Eclipse. The whole event lasts the total time of 3 hours and 7 minutes. The start of this major event is starting at 3:47 a.m. CDT which is a little too late for where I am at in the Chicago area and by the time the partial eclipse will begin at 4:45 a.m. the sun will already be on the rise. The epic of the event is at 6:19 a.m., which is after our sunrise. No photos, what a let down, but if you are in the right area, you will be able to witness a great event tonight. The moon will enter Earth’s shadow and naturally turns a blood red color during the point of the total lunar eclipse. This is the first in one in more than two years visible from the United States. It is considered a super blood moon because the moon will also line up in a close approach to our planet, so therefore the event is promoted as a supermoon.
