The History:
Croutons: Numerous terms associated with bread products are derived from the French language, reflecting the Frenchโ€™s deep appreciation for bread. Croutons exemplify this connection; the French term โ€˜croรปteโ€™ translates to โ€˜crust.โ€™ Typically, croutons are prepared using stale bread that is diced into cubes and flavored with herbs, oil, or butter. Subsequently, the bread is either baked in the oven or sautรฉed in a hot pan until it achieves a crunchy texture.
