The History:
Origination: In the 1670’s, the original style of a Christmas candy cane was introduced. In 1844, a recipe for a straight peppermint candy stick, characterized by its white color and colored stripes, was made public. Nevertheless, there are accounts suggesting the existence of all-white candy sticks from much earlier periods. Folklore provides various narratives regarding the origins of the candy cane, although there is no concrete evidence to confirm its true beginnings. The candy cane first appeared in literature in 1866, and it was specifically associated with Christmas for the first time in 1874. By 1882, it became customary to hang candy canes on Christmas trees.

Calories of Enjoyment: A standard 5 to 6-inch candy cane typically consists of two servings, each containing around 50 to 60 calories.
