The Beginning Years: It is believed that Kentucky’s ancient history is diverse, dating back over 5,000 years ago, with Paleoindian groups arriving first, living in small groups and using stone tools for hunting and scraping. Summers have average daytime temperatures in the 80’s, with humid and rainy conditions. Winters have average lows in the 20’s, with snow and ice. Springs range from 39°F to 66°F, and falls from 42°F to 68°F. The state’s climate varies across the state, with the north being cooler and the south being warmer.
