Here is today’s featured photo presentation of LEGO® United States Monuments as presented at the LEGO® Brand celebrates American icons, Americana Roadshow at the Orland Square Mall back in the vintage days the early 1980’s, in order to let Fall 2024 REALLY shine. This photo set is the LEGO® rendition of The White House.

Photo taken a Nikon 26 mm lens put onto a Nikon FE camera, filter=polarizer and yellow filter, Aperture=22 f/stop, shutter-speed 1/15th second, loaded with Ilford FP-4 Black & White 135 Negative Film ISO (ASA) 125 (fine grain) processed with D-76 Processing Chemicals, and a fiber paper print using the Kodak Professional “warm-tone” enlargement paper developed with Kodak Dektol chemicals onto a 3½x5″ matte-gloss print. Date – Spring 1983.
☼HISTORY: The real White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC. The world renown White House, an iconic symbol of freedom, is the sole building that completely represents the United States abroad. In 1791, President George Washington selected the location for what is now known as the White House, situated at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC. The design competition for the White House was won in 1792 by Irish-born architect James Hoban, whose Georgian mansion, characterized by Palladian elements, was favored for its aesthetic appeal and functionality. Construction commenced on October 13, 1792, and the first occupants, President John Adams and his spouse Abigail, took residence in 1800. During the War of 1812, the British set the White House ablaze, leading to Hoban’s appointment for its reconstruction. Initially referred to as the “President’s Palace” on early maps, the term “White House” was officially adopted in 1901 during President Theodore Roosevelt’s administration. Throughout its history, the White House has experienced significant renovations, including one by President Roosevelt in 1902 and another by President Harry Truman following World War II. Notable features of the White House include the Oval Office and the Rose Garden. It is unique as the only private residence of a head of state that is accessible to the public at no cost. Prior to the establishment of the White House, the President’s House was located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving as the executive residence for both George Washington and John Adams while the capital was still being developed in Washington, D.C.
