☼HISTORY: The real Old North Church, 193 Salem St, Boston, MA. The world renown of Old North Church, an iconic symbol of freedom, commenced on the evening of April 18, 1775, when church sexton Robert Newman and vestryman Captain John Pulling, Jr. ascended the steeple to display two lanterns. This act served as a signal from Paul Revere, indicating that the British forces were advancing toward Lexington and Concord by sea via the Charles River, rather than by land. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of the American Revolution. Established in 1723, Christ Church, commonly referred to as the Old North Church, stands as Boston’s oldest extant church and is one of its most frequented historical landmarks. In 1775, just prior to the Revolution, a significant portion of the congregation remained loyal to the British Crown, with many holding prominent roles within the royal administration, including the Royal Governor of Massachusetts. This context renders Robert Newman’s allegiance to the patriot cause particularly remarkable.
Another fine LEGO United States monument photo set to follow, continuing the fall season of 2024! I am super happy to bring this very nice feature to everyone. Enjoy, and see you with another fine U.S. monument photograph!
