What To Do Before a Dog is Missing:
Register: Notify local animal control agency immediately about the missing animal.
Microchip: Get your pet microchipped so that a found dog can be relocated back to the owner by reading the microchip.
Microchip is NOT a GPS Device: There is no way and never will be a way to locate your lost dog by an app on your Android, iPhone or laptop by the microchip. It is not a Global Positioning System (GPS) device, do there is no way to incorporate the use of such systems into the microchip.
Use a GPS Tags For Pets: Visit the Best GPS Pet Tracker Reviews – Consumer Reports to see which systems are reputable and compatible with your needs, budget , etc.

What To Do As Soon as The Dog is Missing:
Notify: Notify local animal control agency immediately about the missing animal.
Visit: Personally visit all nearby animal shelters to search for the pet.
Search: Conduct a search at night with a flashlight and food to attract the lost pet.
Advertise: Advertise the lost pet on social media platforms and put up neon posters in the local area.
Contact: Contact neighborhood veterinarians to inquire about any lost and found reports.

Organizations around the world, including World Blind Union (WBU) (donations are welcomed and appreciated) observe the International Guide Dog Day. Guide dog demonstrations, workshops, and special events are observed worldwide at guide dog schools on this day.
Celebrated: Since the year 1989, every year on the last Wednesday in April, the International Guide Dog Day is celebrated in order to commemorate the existence of guide dogs worldwide. The International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) (donations are welcomed and appreciated) was established in 1989 with the mission to support the efforts of its members in the advancement and provision of guide dogs to attain independent mobility in a safe manner for blind or partially sighted individuals.
