Top 10 romance books, top 10 couples, or top 10 reasons you like to write romance in your books
In the world of writing, there’s something truly magical about the contemporary romance genre that keeps my heart tethered to it. Here are the top 10 reasons why I adore writing contemporary romance novels:
- The Modern Setting Feels Close to Home: Setting my stories in modern times makes the characters come alive in a way that feels incredibly real. They’re not just characters in a book; they’re like friends you could run into tomorrow, making the stories resonate on a deeply personal level.
- The Thrill of Steam: Let’s be honest, crafting those steamy scenes is an absolute joy. There’s an art to writing chemistry that sizzles off the page, and it’s exhilarating to create moments that make readers blush and swoon.
- The Angst is Addictive: There’s something about the tension and angst in romance that adds depth to the story. It’s the push and pull, the will-they-won’t-they, that keeps both me and my readers on the edge of our seats.
- Celebrating Love: At the heart of it, I’m a hopeless romantic. Writing about love, in all its forms, is a celebration of the human heart. Crafting stories that explore the power of love is both a privilege and a joy.
- Emotional Rollercoasters: Crafting a narrative that takes readers on an emotional journey is one of the most rewarding aspects of writing contemporary romance. The highs, the lows, and everything in between—it’s a rollercoaster that I never want to get off.
- Building a World of Interconnected Stories: There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating a universe filled with compelling characters, all interconnected in some way. It’s like putting together a puzzle, piece by piece, until a beautiful picture of an entire community comes into view.
- Creating Relatable Characters: One of my favorite things is to create characters that resonate with readers. Characters who are flawed, who struggle, and who ultimately grow, reflect the reality of our own lives, making the story more impactful.
- Exploring Rich Themes: Contemporary romance allows me to dive into a myriad of themes—from health and mental wellness to complex family dynamics and past traumas. It’s a way to shed light on important issues while telling a story that entertains and enlightens.
- The Joy of Happily Ever After (HEA): The journey to a deep, everlasting happily ever after is the most rewarding part of writing romance. It’s a testament to the enduring power of love, offering hope and satisfaction to readers and to me as an author.
- It’s Just Plain Fun: At the end of the day, writing contemporary romance is fun. It’s a genre that allows for endless creativity, emotional exploration, and the joy of bringing love stories to life.
Writing contemporary romance is a passion that allows me to explore the depths of human emotion, the complexities of relationships, and the beauty of love in all its forms. I love it so much and I hope readers can see that when they pick up one of my books.

Synopsis:
When a man, haunted by secrets, reunites with the only woman who’s ever ignited his soul, he’ll do anything to prove he’s more than his mistakes.
From the moment I laid eyes on her in Vegas, I knew tattoo artist Jordan Deveraux was my destiny.
Our chemistry was too fiery to ignore, one night of passion could never be enough.
Walking away was agony.
Easily, the biggest regret of my life.
Years later, I’m successful and rich but still crave my siren of the sea.
Her game of pretend doesn’t mask the heat still smoldering between us.
Little does she know, I have the roadmap to turn her fantasies into reality.
Stranded in my boat, the waves aren’t the only things rocking.
Her ability to resist me sinks faster than a lead anchor.
Here’s the catch—my past isn’t as spotless as the buildings I design.
And my secrets threaten to pull us under.
Can we navigate these turbulent waters to find a future?
Or, will my mistake capsize everything?
The Tryst List is a sizzling, standalone, billionaire, enemies to lovers, forced proximity tale of second chances, where the ink of passion and the scars of the past collide.
