07/18/23 Tzumi Innovations (Wipe Out! products) Tzumi Innovations A $2 million settlement has been reached in a case alleging that the maker of Wipe Out! products (wipes and sprays) led consumers to incorrectly believe the products were safe and legal to use as surface disinfectants, when in reality the EPA had not found Wipe Out! wipes and sprays to be safe or effective for consumer use. If you purchased Wipe Out! products on or before April 19, 2023, you may be eligible for payment.
07/21/23 Udemy (deceptive class prices) Udemy Online learning platform Udemy agreed to a settlement in a case alleging that the company deceptively charged consumers more than the advertised discounted price for its online courses. If you purchased a Udemy.com course between Aug. 23, 2017, and April 21, 2023, you may be eligible for a payment of $4 per course, up to a maximum of $40 (10 courses).
07/31/23 Google (Search data) Google Google agreed to pay $23 million in a settlement to resolve claims it shared users’ searches with third parties without consent. If you used Google Search and clicked on a search result between Oct. 25, 2006, and Sept. 30, 2013, you may be eligible for payment under the settlement.
08/03/23 Midwestern Pet Foods (aflatoxin and salmonella contamination) Midwestern Pet Foods Midwestern Pet Foods will pay $6.375 million dollars to settle a case alleging that the company sold pet food containing dangerous levels of aflatoxin (a carcinogen) and salmonella (bacteria). If you purchased one or more of the listed products (https://www.mwpfsettlement.com/Home/Products), you may be eligible for payment.
08/04/23 Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports (Bed Tech bed frames) Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports Mattress Firm and Global Home Imports have settled a case alleging that some Bed Tech bed frames are defective (prone to collapse) and, therefore, dangerous. Consumers who purchased certain models of the Bed Tech HR Platform bed frame between April 8, 2015, and April 8, 2021, may be eligible for a payment or gift card under the $4.9 million settlement.
08/04/23 Herbalife (misleading marketing) Herbalife MLM company Herbalife agreed to pay $12.5 million to settle a case alleging that the company misled distributors of its dietary supplements about the value of attending the company’s events. If you are an Herbalife distributor and you purchased tickets to two or more U.S.-based Herbalife events between Jan. 1, 2009, and April 6, 2023, you may be eligible for payment.
08/07/23 DirecTV (unsolicited calls) DirecTV DirecTV agreed to pay $16.85 million to settle allegations that the company violated the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) by making unsolicited call to people whose phone numbers were on the National Do Not Call Registry. If you received two or more of these telemarketing calls within any 12-month period, you may be eligible for payment. (To check if you received a call, you can enter your phone number in a search tool on the administrator website.)
08/10/23 Roblox (deleted in-game purchases) Roblox Roblox, a game platform geared toward children that enables in-game purchases, agreed to a $10 million settlement to resolve claims that the company allowed children to make excessive in-game purchases and then deleted related content and allegedly disallowed parents to seek refunds. If you (or your child) had a Roblox account before May 11, 2023, and had virtual items you (s/he) purchased removed from the platform by Roblox, you may be eligible for payment.
08/11/23 Meta Platforms (Facebook location data privacy) Meta Platforms Meta Platforms, which owns Facebook, agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that the company inferred the location of U.S. Facebook users through their IP addresses even after they had turned off location services for the Facebook app on their Android or iPhone. If you used Facebook in the U.S. between Jan. 30, 2015, and April 18, 2018, and had your location services setting for the Facebook app turned off, yet your location was inferred by your IP address, you may be eligible for payment from the $37.5 million fund.
08/12/23 Virgin Scent (Artnaturals hand sanitizer) Virgin Scent Virgin Scent, the maker of Artnaturals hand sanitizer, agreed to pay $3.08 million to settle claims alleging that the company was negligent in selling its product, which is contaminated with high levels of the known carcinogen benzene. If you purchased any Artnaturals hand sanitizer between Jan. 1, 2015, and May 23, 2023, you may be eligible for payment.
08/14/23 SeatGeek (canceled event credits) SeatGeek Mobile ticket-selling platform SeatGeek agreed to a settlement to resolve claims the company didn’t provide ticket buyers with full cash refunds for events canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in violation of the law. If you purchased tickets to a live event via SeatGeek’s mobile website between Sept. 10, 2019, and March 17, 2020, the event was canceled, and you were issued a credit (rather than refund) without consenting to a credit (and you haven’t used that credit or received a refund), you may be eligible to extend the credit or receive a refund.
08/15/23 Fashion Nova (misleading product ratings) Fashion Nova Online clothing retailer Fashion Nova agreed to pay $4.2 million to settle charges made by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that the company omitted hundreds of thousands of negative product reviews and also excluded those with less than four stars. If you purchased products at FashionNova.com before Nov. 21, 2019, based on the ratings and reviews, and you were dissatisfied with your purchase but have not already received a refund for the product(s), you may be eligible for payment.
08/18/23 Turkish Airlines (COVID-related flight cancellations) Turkish Airlines Turkish Airlines settled a lawsuit accusing the airline of failing to compensate customers for flights canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Customers who purchased Turkish Airlines tickets for travel between March 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2021, and whose flights were canceled by the airline but they did not receive a refund, voucher or rebooking, may be eligible for payment.
08/25/23 Meta Platforms (Facebook data privacy) Meta Platforms (Facebook) Meta Platforms, owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has agreed to pay $725 million to settle a case alleging that the company shared or otherwise made accessible Facebook users’ (and their friends’) data without their permission. Class members—U.S. users of Facebook between May 24, 2007, and Dec. 22, 2022—may be eligible for payment.
10/14/23 Henkel Corp. and Thriving Brands (Right Guard antiperspirant) Henkel Corp. and Thriving Brands The makers of Right Guard antiperspirant agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that Right Guard aerosol and spray antiperspirants contain or are at risk of containing benzene, a known carcinogen. You may be eligible for part of the $1.95 million settlement if you purchased Right Guard Sport and/or Right Guard Xtreme aerosol or spray products between Nov. 19, 2018, and June 8, 2023.
11/13/23 Nationstar (mortgage ACH errors) Nationstar Mortgage lender and servicer Nationstar (now known as Mr. Cooper) agreed to a $5 million settlement to resolve a case alleging that the company sent incorrect automated clearing house (ACH) information to home loan borrowers’ bank accounts in April 2021, which resulted in overpayments and other financial repercussions. Members of the class may receive a cash payment plus reimbursement for related out-of-pocket expenses.
12/11/23 Artsana USA, Inc. (Chicco KidFit car booster seats) Artsana USA, Inc. Artsana USA has agreed to settle a lawsuit alleging that the company’s Chicco-branded “KidFit” booster seats are unsafe. The suit claims that the company misrepresented the minimum weight requirement for collision protection. You may be eligible for payment if you purchased a KidFit booster seat between April 22, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2021.
04/17/24 Macy’s (CVC sheets) Macy’s Macy’s agreed to pay $10.5 million to settle a lawsuit alleging that the retailer sold CVC sheets (Chief Cotton Value—a cotton mix) labeled with a higher thread count than actual, resulting in consumers overpaying for the product. If you purchased CVC Sheets supplied by AQ Textiles from a Macy’s store between Nov. 8, 2013, and March 24, 2023, you may be eligible for payment.
05/25/24 Vasona Management (housing discrimination) Vasona Management Vasona Management, a property management company operating in the San Francisco Bay Area, reached a settlement with the California Civil Rights Department to resolve claims that the company discriminated against tenants with children. If you are a current or former tenant who lived with a child under age 18 at any of the Vasona Management properties listed here between April 13, 2016, and July 1, 2019, you may be eligible for payment.
