Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Nannyberry

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Nannyberry.

The Nannyberry (wild raisin, sweet viburnum, sheepberry) or the Viburnum lentago L., is a versatile native shrub with excellent year-round interest. The Nannyberry Viburnum features showy white flowers in May and burgundy leaf color in autumn with dark. The Nannyberry grows to a height of 15 to 20 feet, and likes the clay soil type. The Nannyberry is best grown in the full Sun or part shade, and with good drainage, not low-lying areas.

  1. We had one of these growing up, and yes, we had clay soil. I never knew its name. It was sure a bee attracter is what I remember about it. Couldn’t get too close to it since they were swarming it. They loved the scent and were always there.

  2. I used to see so many of these in upstate New York. They always attracted the birds, they ate the berries. Pretty when it turns red, too!

  3. Wow, what a beautiful flower bush! I have never heard of this one. This would make a really good natural fence in your yard. I would definitely love having one!
