Featured Photo: Flower of the Day – The Striped Squill

HERE WE GO! This year’s 1st Featured Photo “Flower of the Day”!!!

Today’s Featured Flower Photo of the Day: Striped Squill

Here is today’s featured photo flower presentation. To let this year shine bright, I am featuring fine photos of flowers, continuing to honor the brighter side of life again this year. Today’s Flower of the day is the Striped Squill.

The Striped Squill, or the Puschkinia scilloides var. libanotica, is a small, early-spring-blooming bulb that puts out white star-shaped flowers that have blue stripes right down the middle of each petal. It is a great colonizer in many areas that usually gets better with age. The Striped Squill seldom are bothered by animal pests. They grows to the size of 4 to 6 inches tall, and make nice front-of-the-border edging. Since they grow in both sunny or part shady areas, they also work well massed around trees and in wooded settings.

Photo taken with a Samsung Galaxy A71 with the factory Quad camera Standard-wide: 64 MP 1/1.72-inch sensor with 0.8µm pixels and 26 mm-equivalent f/1.8 PDAF lens Ultra-wide: 12 MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture lens.
