Today’s featured photo of the day! The feature is: Architecture – The Buildings of Chicago, Illinois

Here is today’s featured photo presentation of the Adams Street Drawbridge Tower that resides on the side of the Bascule Bridge crossing the South Branch Chicago River just west of Downtown Chicago. To let the summer months REALLY shine, I am featuring fine photos of great architecture, so we can continue to honor the brighter side of life this year. Part 3 features the beauty of The Buildings of Chicago, Illinois, which also includes fine architecture like the drawbridge tower at Adams Street. What history and artwork this fine architecture has! It’s history is extensive as well, with the fact that the bridge is on Historic Route 66. In 1955 Adams Street was converted into a one way street, which made for the westbound alignment for US Route 66. This drawbridge is in the Chicago scenic downtown river walk along the Chicago River just west of Wacker Drive at the address of 413 W. Historic Route 66 according to a Google Maps search. It is sections of the City of Chicago that are very elegant, and among several examples of the great staples throughout Chicago, making the great city of Chicago it’s very own, and a great place to visit for a vacation! Date – July 1981.
