In remembrance of Rush Limbaugh.

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III was an American syndicated radio personality, with the style of being a conservative political commentator, an author, and a television show host. He was best known as the host of his radio show The Rush Limbaugh Show, which has been in syndication with his own “EIB/Excellence In Broadcasting Network”, and the self-proclaimed “Doctor of Democracy”. Most notably, Rush single-handedly rescued the AM band from complete demise, because–before Rush, the AM band had a complete decade of sliding down due to FM band becoming the way people listened to radio in those times, and radio going in and out of trying to “re-think” the industry by keeping on the path of the way people listened in the 60’s and 70’s. After a series of failures in AM, even using AM stereo, Rush’s program re-instituted the AM band and got people listening to AM again. Broadcasters continue to this day, try to have program directors have programming that fits a style and finesse, delivering any message (of any content), with the medium that Rush Limbaugh used.

His efforts over the years include holding conversations with the following:

Former President George H. W. Bush
Former President George W. Bush
Jeb Bush
Former Vice President Dick Cheney
Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger
Sylvester Stallone
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas
Former President Donald Trump

Rush had a really interesting life over the course of his career and was a career guy ALL of his life. In 2018, Rush was the world’s second largest paid radio host, just behind behind Howard Stern. On January 5, 2020, Limbaugh had renewed his contract again with a long-term which according to Donald Trump, it was a four-year deal. Despite having a rough last year Rush continued to try to do his radio program as far as he could physically do, refusing any type of retirement. His more recent merits were being presented award of “Medal of Freedom” in complete surprise at the State of the Union Address on February 4, 2020 as presented to him by Melania Trump. He also had the honor of broadcasting almost a whole show featuring the guest call-in appearance of Former President Donald Trump on Friday, October 9, 2020. He personally deactivated his Twitter account on January 8th in response to the activity going on with the handling of Parler’s website and app and things that were being either stated and/or misstated. His last on-air show was on February 2nd. At the age of 70 after being diagnosed with lung cancer, Limbaugh lay to rest. A statement from Premiere Networks states that his program will continue with archived content and also guest hosts until the show is cancelled at some point in the future. Rush , although I never met him personally has been stated as a really nice guy in person, a person who would give you the shirt off his back. He will be very dearly missed by all.
