Today’s featured photo of the day! November’s feature is: California

Here is today’s featured photo. For the month of November I am featuring photos of California. Here is a magnificent shot of world famous Griffith Observatory. Being super into astronomy, this is such a great landmark for scientists and astronomers worldwide! Date – November 1991.

California_Griffith Observatory__Fujicolor 400.png

Photo taken with a Nikon FE camera through a Nikon 26 mm lens, filter=polarizer, Aperture=16 f/stop, shutter-speed 1/60th second*, loaded with Fujicolor 400 Color 135 Negative Film processed with C-41 Processing Chemicals, and a Type C Print using the RA-4 enlargement paper process, onto a 4X6″ semi-gloss print. *=The meter called for between 1/125th to 1/250th of a second, so me taking the photo at 1/60th, the otherwise dark shadow on the front of the observatory came shining through because of the added exposure time.

TIP:  While taking a backlit photo or where there is significant shadow on the subject, increase exposure by taking three shots in increments of +1 f/stop to +3 f/stops up, so the better photo comes through for you–and you thereby have a successful photo-shoot. Digital photography can only make up so much, because if the photo is over saturated with light, the pixels have no other choice except to be bright or white, yielding a bad photo.

See you tomorrow with another fine photograph of my favorite state to vacation–California!!
